: Lisha Sreele Cobb: She is a San Carlos Apache Tribal member and resides on the Reservation.
I am full blood San Carlos Apache. I am from the Surrounded by Rock clan and born to the Picture clan. My grandmother is late Cecilia Henry and my mother is Novena Cobb. I first started to weave when I was 9 yrs old. Basket weaving has been a part of my family for a very long time. So, Naturally I just picked it up. I have been weaving for 20 yrs. Over the years I have been weaving finer and finer weave. I bead also in delicate and finer work. I am planning to teach my children to keep this art alive.
Materia
l: River willow, cottonwood, metal ring, tin and buckskin. The weaving is extra fine.

:  The diameter of the basket is 6.7" and 5.5" side length and total length is 13"
Culture
:
Apache Burden basket was used like a shopping cart of the present day. The Apache women carried all the goods in the baskets when they went out to the fields and mountains to gather berries, herbs, roots, fire kindling and other thing. It is also used at the Traditional Sunrise dance ceremonies. Some people hang the small basket by the door to place their burdens and troubles in.
