Weights are given as grams, 31 grams to an ounce, 454 to a pound.
I have a pretty decent pile of copper nuggets in my pasture. They have been collected using a metal detector. I have some from Alaska, the Yukon Territory, Montana, Michigan and old Mexico. Some are as shiny as new pennies, some green, some dull, some dark. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY SOME ARE DIFFERENT COLORS THAN OTHERS. I do know that the major "impurities" of natural copper are gold and silver. If you had a boatload of my nuggets and sent them to a smelter to be refined you would yield a percentage of those metals. But smelting costs money, and I doubt if it would be profitable. These oxidized pieces have a light powder that will rub off to some degree. If it does, leave it out in the sun and it will come back. Squirt some clean water on it to hurry the process. If you want to "seal" the powder, zap the nugget with clear spray varithane, shellac, or even use a womans hairspray. If you want the nugget smooth and shiny, tumbling it will do that pretty quick. I do not like altering whatever Nature provides, so unless noted in the listing; all my items are sold as they came off the pile.
OXIDIZED COPPER. Natural, have not been shined up but have been cleaned. The oxidation is a light powder, it is easily removed if you want. More are listed, more are available. Let me know if you want 1,000 pounds of them.
