    Description

    Item Description
    :
This large olla basket has been beautifully woven by White Mountain Apache artist Linda Guzman.  We don't know if Linda is still alive, this basket was made in the early 80s and has some nice patina to it.  Linda was well known for her baskets and I don't think that anyone is still weaving them, it is slowly becoming a lost art.  The basket has a twined weave woven in yucca and Devil's claw.  Deer and White Mountain Crown Dancers are woven around the sides of the basket.  The checkerboard designs are Linda's trademark.   The basket measures 27.5" high by 19" wide.  This is an extra large basket, it is rare to find one of Linda's baskets in this size.  This would make a great decorator for a large home.  It will come with the original tag identifying Linda as the weaver.   This basket is in great condition.  (This basket sold in the 1980s for 00.)
